"ERN MALLEY’S POEMS", EDITED BY MAX HARRIS, 1974

£10.00
Sold

Conceived by James McAuley and Harold Stewart to expose the meaningless of “modern” poetry, the poems of Ern Malley were written more to discredit the poetic output of T.S.Eliot, Dylan Thomas and other non-traditionalist poets. First published in 1944 in “Angry Penguins”. Two separate editions were later published, one for the American market, another for the Australian. Both are Australiana rarities now.  The Lansdowne edition of 1960, of which this is a reprint is also scarce. The present edition, to celebrate Ern’s participation in the 1974 Adelaide Festival of the Arts, is a special collector’s edition.
