Marg was founded by Mulk Raj Anand in 1946, with the aim of developing a socially active and culturally engaging language of art. Marg magazine and books have been a forum for pioneering research in Indian art and are acclaimed for their standards of production and editorial content.

This hard to find copy of the June 1961 “Pottery” issue includes: “Evolution of Pottery Forms and Fabrics in India” by Z. D. Ansari; Ceramics of The Indus Vallery in Gujarat: (2500 B.C. to 800 B.C.) by S. R. Rao; “The Copper and Stone Age Pottery of Mahemshwar-Navdatoli” by H.D. Sankalia; “Northern Black Polished Ware” by J.S. Nigam; “Decorated Pottery of North India” by J.S. Nigam; “A Note on the Ceramic Industry in Bihar” by Sita Ram Roy; “Islamic Pottery” by Dr. Muhammad Baqir. Multiple foldout diagrams of pottery forms. Text in English. And more…
