Richly illustrated throughout with outstanding full-page reproductions of portraits by Lord Snowdon of artists and their work, both in their homes and studios; including Patrick Caulfield, Elisabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth, Eduardo Paolozzi, Bridget Riley, Graham Sutherland, and many, many others.

Private View was the result of several years collaboration between Lord Snowdon, then artistic advisor at The Sunday Times and one of the world’s greatest photographers; Bryan Robertson, who was Director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery; and art historian and critic, John Russell.
