SIGNED first edition (first printing) of the 1971 book devoted to Arthur Boyd’s entire graphic work (excluding the St Francis series) produced between 1962 and 1969. Introduction by Imre von Maltzahn in English. Signed by the artist in black ink, the cover reproduces Boyd’s sensual red lithograph, Butterfly Man (1970), an impression of which is in the Tate and other international museum collections.
Arthur Merric Bloomfield Boyd AC OBE (24 July 1920 – 24 April 1999) was one of the Twentieth-century's greatest artists. Born in Melbourne in 1920 he spent much of his life in London. In 1962 he embarked seriously on etching and lithography.
