An exhibition of over 60 works drawn from the British Council collection and selected by Andrea Rose, then curator. The show included painting, sculpture, watercolours and photographs, dating from the start of the 20th century to its last decade. The exhibition was accompanied by an illustrated catalogue with an essay and entries by Andrea Rose, with artists’ biographical and bibliographic notes compiled by James Bustard and Emily Feaver. The exhibition originated in 1990 and toured for two years.
