1978 spiral bound artist’s book by Paul Martin, son of Mary Martin and Kenneth Martin. One of 500 copies. Published by Pamela Robertson-Pearce for MONOGRAPH. 1 text, 1 map and 19 inked-in blocks.

“The Map is the key to the drawings. Each inked-in block is the centre of a spiral, the 19 blocks being the centres of the 19 different drawings. The centres run from west to east through the town of Eye. Each drawing is a tracing of the roads on the map following a spiral route from the centre outwards in an anti-clockwise direction so that the line does not touch where it has already been except at a crossroads. Each lines goes round seven times and stops at the A140 main road, the first map is the furthest west o the main road it can go and still touch it, the last map is the furthest east.” – Paul Martin, Spirals Through Eye, Suffolk (1977-8)
