Includes reproductions of works by Constantin Brancusi, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian ; photographs by L. Moholy-Nagy, Francis Bruguiere, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Paul Strand, etc. Contains the first part of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis. Other contributors include Dylan Thomas ("Poem" and "The Mouse and the Woman"), Norman McCaig (two poems) etc. Other contributions by Harry Brown, Eugene Jolas and Oliver Wells. A clean very near fine copy in yapped wrappers (i.e. edges not flush with the pages) with some minor rubbing to rear panel. In the 1940s, View Editions, published the first monograph on Marcel Duchamp and the first book translations of André Breton's poems.
