The Life and Work of Frank Holl (1845–1888) by Mrs. Ada M. Holl Reynolds, daughter of Frank Holl. With 20 illustrations. Ownership inscription of Violet Haig, perhaps a relation of Dr Haig Brown (1823–1907), whom Holl had painted around 1886, a reproduction of his portrait by Holl is included on page 234. Haig was Headmaster of Charterhouse School and the third son of Thomas Brown of Edinburgh and his wife Amelia, daughter of John Haig, of the Haigs of Bemersyde.
